In this paper the Biblical reminiscences of comprehension of living creatures by medieval Eastern-Christian thinkers are denoted, the place of these problems in their works is defined, the common and distinctive aspects in the approaches to comprehension of living being’s essence are determined. The Fathers of Eastern Church confirmed the ideas of value of living being as God's creature and timid attitude toward it, adoring any demonstration of life, endowing it with moral and spiritual parameters.
Actualization of their teachings is of a great importance for contemporary Ukraine, as far as the Eastern patristic is closely connected with Orthodoxy which for ages set the rhythm and the vector of our native culture development.
The investigation of Eastern-patristic views transformation as a result of science development, their co-adaptation and contradictions to modern science, could be a continuation of this research.Downloads
