The ways of literary tradition’s transformation in modern novel’s artistic structure is investigated in this article on material of novel “Solo for Solomiya” by Volodymyr Lys. The rethinking of traditional artistic forms is traced on the analysis of the most important aspects of literary work: genre characteristics, time and space organization, dominant images and system of characters. Interaction of classic literature’s experience and postmodernist artistic language is revealed as well. The individual author’s picture of the world formed by the constants of Ukrainian mental consciousness became the sphere of active dialogue of classic novel’s literary forms and new artistic strategies: narrative polyphony, numerous cultural allusions, rethinking of traditional for Ukrainian literature gender models.Downloads
